I'm Amy Baker, an educator who loves graphic design and technology. For the past twenty years, I've been fortunate to combine my passion for visual arts and tech in both my career and personal projects.
For the last 15 years, I have dedicated myself to teaching an array of subjects, including technology utilization, visual communications, and the fundamentals of visual arts. My expertise extends to graphic design, animation, web design, 3D modeling, still photography, video production/editing, as well as college and career preparation. Additionally, I co-owned a graphics company for seven years and currently manage a paving and excavating company alongside my husband, overseeing multiple employees.
My passion for education drives me to continually seek innovative methods to incorporate my design skills into the classroom setting. As an entrepreneur and industry professional, I continually strive to stay abreast of current practices and trends.
My transition into Career and Technical Education has deepened my commitment to guiding students towards successful career paths, while also fostering growth opportunities for my colleagues. I've actively contributed to various committees and conducted professional development sessions to share insights gained from my extensive background.
One of the distinguishing features of the visual arts is its subjectivity—there are no definitive right or wrong answers, only endless opportunities for exploration and creative problem-solving. These critical skills, often overlooked in traditional academic settings, are highly valued by employers.
